The Silo Hotel

The Silo is an exclusive five-star hotel that rises above the V&A Waterfront, nestled amidst the natural beauty of South Africa’s Mother City. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, the building’s exterior features innovative glass windows that transform the structure into a glowing beacon in Table Bay harbour by night. These multifaceted windows, each with 56 glass panels, bulge outward, creating a striking visual effect.

Each of The Silo Hotel’s 28 rooms, including a stunning one-bedroom penthouse, has been uniquely designed and decorated by Liz Biden, the owner and founder of The Royal Portfolio. The interiors combine colorful and eclectic pieces with modern industrial architecture, reflecting Liz’s talent for creating stylish yet comfortable spaces. Every room features a private balcony and a unique collection of contemporary African art, offering some of the world’s best views through the distinctive pillowed-glass windows.
